I am an internet junkie and spend a lot of time on my computer, laptop and even on my phone on the internet.
Before I make a decision on a product I am thinking of buying I love to dig deep into the subject and find all the pros and cons of the product.
What I found is that a lot of time if you use the word review with your product in it to find something in a search engine like Google, Yahoo, Bing or any of the other ones I use to find information you see a lot of the online stores showing up.
I have no problem with that except that lately you read more and more that stores buy positive reviews of their products and this decreases the value of those reviews of course.
This is the reason that most of the time I skip these E-commerce websites and scroll down lower on the page or even look at page 2 or 3 to find a review site that gives me more unbiased information about the product I think I will buy soon.
On of the sites I found that does a good job is called better priced online and I just love to snoop around on there and here is the link http://www.bettergrills.com/ for if you would like to have a look at it.
I will give you an example of how they helped me the last time with my search for the best product. I was looking for an indoor grill. If you have read more of my post you know that I love to grill and cook outdoors and most of the time I do. sometimes however I run late and do not have time to start the grill and heat it up to cook me some meat on there.
This made me decide, plus the bad weather sometimes, to have a look at an indoor grill that would have all the features I need for my kind of cooking and grilling in particular.
I started by doing my regular search and got all the usual Ecommerce sites that only tell me what to by and not too much on why I should by that model or brand.
After seeing that I did what I usually do and scrolled down the page and still did not find what I was looking for.
Then on the second page I found my good old favorite site better priced online and there page that wrote reviews on indoor electric grills in there you can have a look at it here http://www.bettergrills.com/indoor-grill-reviews/ for yourself to see what I mean.
Nor only do they give me numerous brands to choose from but also many models of these brands and all of them have a very good review.
This made it possible for me to find the one I think was the best match for my kind of grilling and cooking.
Now to come back to the subject of this post. Yes, I think that review sites still have a purpose on the internet to help us find more information on products we would like to buy now or in the near future. We just have to dig a little deeper and find the ones that provide value to us.
Let’s be honest a manufacturer will never give you the cons of their product. They just want to sell and sell. On an e-commerce site you might find honest reviews but also ones that our bought or ones that received a free product in exchange for their “honest” opinion.
With the holiday season there will be a spike in these type of sites and you have to pay even more attention to their quality.
Let me know what you think about this subject but I think that independent review sites can help us find unbiased information about product we like to buy.
